Hi, I am Carissa Lyons.
I am a Jay County native and grew up on a farm. My husband, Ben, and I are now raising our daughter on a farm near Portland, Indiana. I work full time as a labor and delivery nurse and have recently started pursuing portrait photography. I have always had a passion for photography from a young age when I used to pose my kittens and other animals and take their photos with point and shoot cameras. I bought an entry level camera in 2015 and took it with me on my many adventures all across the country as a travel nurse. I enjoyed landscape photography as a hobby, but it wasn't until giving birth to my daughter in July of 2019 that I started using my camera for portraits. I still enjoy photos of beautiful sunsets, but capturing those precious memories of newborns, rambunctious children, loving families and couples are what truly make photography meaningful to me. Don't get me wrong- if I can have both a beautiful sunset with a lovely family smiling and laughing together all in one photo, I'm all about that! Truly, what photography means to me is preserving a moment to be looked back on and cherished for many years to come. I want to give each and every client not just a photo album of pictures, but a book of moments to treasure for a lifetime! I'm new to the portrait photography world but am looking to continue growing in my art! Contact me so we can get together and capture some beautiful memories!
